Rent Small Room In Ubon Ratchthani 2 - 4 Months ?

Recommended Posts

I have got to stay in Ubon Ratchathani for 2- 4 months.

I am not going to spend much time there; a small room with a bed and a fan is enough.

Does anybody know a place with small rooms where a farang would be welcome ?

(I don't want a hotel where you are scrutinized by the receptionist every time you leave and a cleaning lady re-arranges your stuff every day to make the room look neat and tidy.)

Houmong apartment 045-317309, clean place near the water.

Thanks ! I googled the place and it looks very nice.

Thank you again for trying to help me. I don't want to be negative, but this is the opposite of what I am looking for.

There are many small "mansions" that do monthly rates. You can spot them, but they don't always have obvious signs. If you just arrive in Ubon, stay in a small hotel for a few days (e.g. behind Wrong Way, or Phadaeng Mansion - both below 500 a night) then you could personally drive around and check them out. You can get monthly rates with aircon for around 5000, I don't know what fan rates are.

Good luck,

Mike

P.S. An example of the signs - I have stayed behind Wrong Way many many times, but still have no idea what the place is called :-)

Some places I have spotted simply because there is a row of identical doors.

Thanks, I love the name "Wrong Way" I'll find a place behind the wrong way.

But what is it ? Is it a building, a police station or something like that ? Do motorcycle taxi guys know where it is, or will they go the wrong way ?

Wrong Way is a farang bar on Tanon Phadaeng (Phadaeng Street). Ubon has tuk tuks, some of them know it, others will know the street name if they understand the way you say it. A few tuk tuks have a Wrong Way ad on the back, so they should know where it is. You can phone the owner, Ting, on 086868661, she can speak to the tuk tuk driver to get instructions.

In the interests of being fair, there are 2 farang bars - the other is N-joy.

Cheers,

Mike

Actually, Ting knows where her bar is, even if it is called Wrong Way. What I meant was, she can give instructions to the tuk tuk driver..... :)

Thank you !

I found the street name "ถนนผาแดง". It's the usual problem. "Phadaeng" doesn't reflect the Thai pronunciation very well.

I also found a website: We Love Ubon. It's very good, full of useful information.

Thanks again, maybe you'll see me in Wrong Way.

It sounds about the same to my ears, but clearly not their's :-)

Once you get there, though, the street sign is bilingual :-)

Cheers !
