Here's an open letter to Humanity. Supposedly from an alien race.

The letter certainly strikes a few chords. (bemused the old cynic in me)

The letter asks for nothing material, just 10 minutes of your time.

10 minutes well spent in my view.

The paragraph that is most pertinant is the one about "....under the thumb of a small number of your political, financial, military and religious representatives."

Therein lies the rub. Within "the rub" lies further impediment....that of the majority, the ignorant masses.

The majority will always make mistakes by very definition. The majority opinion is the average opinion. By definition and in reality, the average opinion is seldom the best opinion. The fatal flaw of "democracy".
