Pattaya Police Meet to Discuss Effectiveness & Efficiency

Over one hundred of Pattaya’s highest ranking police officers attended a general meeting at Pattaya City Hall on Thursday. The meeting, overseen by the Pattaya City Mayor, discussed increasing police efficiency and effectiveness in active crime prevention and suppression.

The Volunteer Police were also discussed, particularly for their integral role of breaking down the language barrier which is so often encountered when tourists have any dealings with the police

The Superintendent of Pattaya Traffic Division announced a new safety program that is soon to be introduced. The program is aimed at reducing the amount of incidents whereby pedestrians are injured or killed whilst crossing the sometimes hectic Pattaya Roads.

Often it seems like about 5 or 10. Some say many hundreds, and here we have over 100 "senior" officers.

Do City Hall control them? If not, why was the Mayor presiding over the meeting.

The funniest bit for me was the issue of police corruption was breifly discussed, speaks volumes should be the main focus. Law and order in Thailand, read men in uniforms and corruption!!!!
