Consequently the wallet and its contents was returned to Mr. Dacquet who thanked Mr. Uamphakdee and told him how much his honesty was appreciated.

And they all live happily ever after.

It is nice to get a good news story like this. The return of the cards and ID would be far more important than the cash, which I hope was shared as a reward.

Good to hear good news for a change.

Too much knocking of Thai's when most are decent honest people, twice I have mislaid Passport and wallet in hotels, the first time was on Phuket, I had to check out my room midday but had wait till 6pm for my pick up, shortly before my departure I used the pool toilets to have a wash and change, I inadvertently left my Passport and wallet by the sink, after realising what I had done I rushed back to the toilets, they were gone, in a blind panic I ran to reception only to nearly knock over the Reception manager who was looking for me with my passport and wallet in hand.

The second occasion happened in Bangkok at the Asia Hotel while waiting for a mini van bus service which was late, I rushed out when it arrived and left a small bag containing my passport and wallet where I had been waiting, again it was not long before I realised what I had done, got the driver to drop me off and made my way back to the hotel, again when I got back to the hotel they had had my wallet and passport and told me the the bus company had phoned and another bus would be coming to pick me up shortly.

I hate to think what would of happened if my Passport had been lost?

I think it's not a matter of nationality what he did. I'm pretty sure that also some foreigners would just keep the wallet. Thanks a lot Khun Uamphakdee.

My own story... Long long time ago I was riding motorbike to go upcountry. I miss placed my bag with all my documents (passport, credit card, money, camera).

A week later, I got all the documents (passport and credit card) by anonymous mail.

OK camera was lost (but I never took many pictures) and money (but I never carried much and it was on a Sunday evening, so my wallet was most likely empty anyway).
