Kalasin Policemen Accused of Extortion and Immoral Conduct

KALASIN: -- Three police officers in Kalasin province have been accused of extortion and immoral conduct.

The commander of the Kalasin Provincial Police Bureau has pledged that the probe into the allegations will be conducted impartially.

In Kalasin province, Police Sergeant Prayong Ruengcharn and two of his subordinates have been accused of extortion and immoral conduct by three victims.

The victims claim that on April 29th, three policemen came into their apartment and hotel rooms and took more than 40,000 baht in cash by force.

Police Sergeant Prayong has denied the accusation by saying that the local police were not informed of the incident because of the ongoing investigation of a local methamphetamine ring.

Prayong's subordinates have already been summoned for questioning. All of them have been charged with extortion and immoral conduct.

Meanwhile, Police Major General Kanisorn Noinart, who is the commander of Kalasin Provincial Police Bureau, said that the policemen and the victims will be given justice after he reviews the case reports.
