Keep an eye on this website- http://www.thaicultureblogs.com/index.php/...hailand-in-2010 - very useful for a breakdown of all those little holidays that sneak in. Here's the next bunch-

13th May 2010 - Royal Ploughing Ceremony **

28th May 2010 - Visakha Bucha Day * (long weekend)

26th June 2010 - Sunthon Phu Day

26th July 2010 - Asarnha Buch Day * (long weekend)

27th July 2010 - Start of Buddhist Rains Retreat * (long weekend)

29th July 2010 - Thai Language Day

12th August 2010 - Queen's Birthday and Mother's Day *

(* = public holiday

** = government worker holiday)

I just got back from post office on Rampkampeang

and it is open, right near the Mall, near soi 19

Open until 9pm

It's quite often the same with the Jomtien PO which appears to open and close at the whim of whomever is in charge.

Hey go figger,it's Thailand.
