Making A Condo-door Secure ?

Featured Replies

the front door in the Condo at BKK where I moved in just recently is not really safe.....just the common lock. I see from my neighbors that they all did some extras to make the door more secure (unfortunately they dont speak english so i can not ask them). anybody knows a good and reliable company to install a security lock ? or provide any other safety-solution at a moderate price ? I am outside LOS many times a year and dont really feel good leaving my laptop and other personal things behind at that place at the moment....

Is your place rented or did you buy it? If renting, then get your landlord to arrange for a deadbolt to be installed. You might offer to pay for the parts and installation. If you bought the place, then you can install yourself or you can get over to homepro, find a lock that fits your needs and I'm sure they can get someone to get it installed for you. Best I can offer as I can't do it for you without a work permit.

Cheers,

its a RENTED place but I will take care of a security lock myself and not tell the landlords as they love to walk in my place while I am not there and I really HATE that. HOME PRO is not what I am looking for as I am not able to install myself. I want to keep the regular lock but add an extra one. you are able to do such thing for me ? If you can, I dont care about your WORK PERMIT.....or do you think the Thai Labour Authorities have a spy here at each floor ?

any other suggestions from other KRUNG-THEPians ????

Like Kringle said, HomePro do have contractors who can install it for you. Or you might ask maintenance staffs with the condo management team to help you install it. Don't you have security guards in your condo?

AsiaWolf, Since I live outside of Bangkok, it would cost me more just to get to your place than it would for you to get the guys at Homepro or something similar to do the job for you. It's a fairly simple job as instructions and a pattern to do the cuts (or rather drill cutting) should come with the deadbolt. Let me know if you have problems.

Cheers,

Kringle
