I listen fine to French radio online (broadband) but the minute I click on a TV program or the news I get: "The exception unknown software exception (0xc00001e) occured in the application at location 0x0e287578. click on OK to terminate program - Click on CANCEL to debug program".

Anyone know what is wrong? is the internet connection may be too slow or could there be a problem with my computer?

Thanks!

A program runtime error and location-based content restrictions are two different things.

Like supernova said, we need more information:

program (name, version) or website (URL)

the actions (clicks) leading to the error

operating system, web browser (name, version)

'...Due to copyright restrictions, many streaming TV programmes are not accessible once they have identified your IP address as being overseas. The only way around this is to go through a proxy of the country that is broadcasting the programme you are trying to access. This might not be the reason in your case as I don't recognise the alert you are getting as we don't have such gobbledegook on Macs, but this is often the problem'.

How does one go about obtaining a "proxy" for a particular country. EG. To view UK tv. Thanks

A rudimentary trouble shooting may look like this:

You know that you browser work well until you start a certain thing.

For example if you computer goes crazy when you start a movie on youtube, then you have most likely problem with the flash plugin because youtube serves you an flv flashvideo. If that is the case, reinstall flash...

I your case we don't know. Do you have a specific plugin for this particular service?

If that is the case, remove it and reinstall it.

Thank you all for the replies!

When I click on any TV program that I want to watch I get the error

Windows XP - Internet Explorer - version? not too sure, actually, but probably either 7 or 8

Thanks to the info posted here I managed to resolve the problem. I switched to Firefox and downloaded some media file (took less than a min) and succcess. It's working!
