Hi Mick

I dont think Surin has any International schools because there are not that many foreigners here to warrant it.

I would guess you would have to look to Bangkok,Pattaya or maybe Korat/Chang Mai?

There is a high school in Surin called Sirindhorn that has an English program (EP). Students start in the EP in M.1 (about age 12). All of their classes are taught in English by speakers of English. The school has very good facilities (computers, aircon rooms, etc.). It's meant to be pretty good and as far as I know it's the closest you will get to an International School in the Surin area without, as mentioned above, traveling to Korat.

Sirindhorn is the only place that would come close to what you're looking for. They study English, computers, health, science, and maths in English and attend regular Thai classes for the rest. Tuition is B35,000 per term or B70,000 per year. All classrooms in that program are air-conditioned and the teachers are all fantastic.

Nari Nakun added an International Program in Ubon. But it only has a dozen students at the moment. But it should grow in the next couple of years. There is also Benjamasat HS and Assumption College that have English programs in Ubon. It is not Surin, but it might be the closest.

In some circles Dave, that can only be a plus for Surin Province.

Does the school have boarding facilities?

No the school does not have boarding facilities. there are dorms off campus though, not to far from the school with 24 our monitors, but how the student is being "monitored" is anyone's guess.. You can assume that the student is virtually on their own and hopefully mature enough to make sound, responsible decisions, but then again we are talking high school students, and TIT!
