Anyone know of a good programme for enhancing sd videos to hd quality. preferably free or a torrent. have already googled.

I work in the industry and at my company we have a pretty sophisticated system for up-sampling. The main purpose of the upsampling process is to get the aspect ratio correctly adapted, but what you get out, depends on what you put in. SD quality in = SD quality out. You are never going to improve the actual quality of, say, a movie.

That said, I've learned that nothing is impossible, so if you do come across something, please let us know.

In the computer industry it is called GIGO, garbage in- garbage out.

Many torrent sites offer SD and HD versions of TV programmes.

The HD files are larger, but are worth the effort.

To play the HD version you need something like the WD HDTV box that has been

discussed in this forum several times

I mostly download HD torrents but some shows are only SD and was looking for something to improve the quality of these. HD is the only way to go and as you say are well worth the extra to download them. I play them direct from my computer using HDMI.
