This about early applications for retirement extensions at Jomtien. Only Jomtien.

A good while back the Jomtien office released an announcement to the local press that retirement extension applications were not only allowed but ENCOURAGED (no excuse needed) as early as THREE months before expiration of current extension of stay.

More recent reports (but still not very recent) have stated that now they only want them as early as TWO months early.

Does the TWO months early allowed/encouraged policy (no excuse needed) still apply at Jomtien? In other words, I am looking for more recent reports.

Please no comments from those using other offices. Yes it is already well known the general national standard is one month early only so any reports from any offices that are not Jomtien are completely irrelevant here.

Thank you.

Officer at Jomtien told me 1 month.

When? Did you specifically ask whether applications longer than one month would be accepted or not? Because if you only asked a general question like when should I come in and he said one month, that doesn't really answer the question of their tolerance levels.

Bumping this topic as I don't feel it has been answered as yet.

BTW, here is the link to an article encouraging people to apply TWO months early. I recalled reading somewhere THREE months was OK, but can't find the link for that. As stated before, this is dated, so still seeking confirmation that TWO months early is still OK. Which BTW, I think is true, but confirmation is always a good thing.

My visa had expired in April. I would extend in January, but they told me I should come back in February.

Means 2 months is ok.

Actually that means it was acceptable five months ago (in January) by my reading but does not answer the question as to it being acceptable today.

Yes, but it is a very good, relatively recent report which confirms the general impression that people who care about this issue have, that currently two months is OK. Proof? No. But thanks for the report!

Okay, Lop, by coincidence I was at the Jomtien office an hour ago doing my 90 day thing, and the officer pointed out that my extension will expire on August 18th. He said "you come next month". I asked him if I could come anytime in July. He said "Yes". I said "even 6 weeks early?". He said "3 weeks, 6 weeks, all good".

Of course, he's only one individual there.

I was not saying anyone was wrong - only that the report was not current as yours is. And that if they did not allow two months it would have been a recent change. But most other offices have observed a one month window and seem to be keeping to that unless extenuating reasons.

Most other offices? Irrelevant to people using Jomtien. I have a fairly high level of confidence now that 2 months early is STILL OK there.

It turns I probably WON'T be early this year, so I can't test this myself. Any other recent reports always welcome ... just for the benefit of public knowledge.
