I have vinyl wall covering on my walls and looks pretty dated after 10 years. Can I paint over it after washing it down/repairing it here and there and clean it? If so, which paint will be the one to use, just emulsion water based paint will/can do? Thanks!

You would need to use an oil based undercoat twice and then you could if you wish , paint on top of that with a water based emulsion .

Thanks, seems like I better pull up my sleeves, a lot of work ahead of me. And there was me thinking a coat of emulsion would suffice ...... this is life! Tks.
