I would not advise waiting for them to pop on the shelves. If you go into a proper Intel Dealer though, he should be able to obtain one from Intel's Thailand Distributor INGRAM MICRO. If you can't find one ask Ingram for direction. If you intend to fit this into a Desktop Platform buy Intel's "Speed Demon" SSD with the fixing kit icluding 2.5" to 3.5" rails.

Have a look at this link :-

Intel® Solid State Drives, Features

You can also ask Intel direct:-

Hi guys. I'm just looking for a 16gb ssd to upgrage my 4gb asus ee-pc any places in Thailand that have these. any help would be appreciated. Thanks Allan

Just be careful to do your research before buying any particular model. Some SSDs experience significant performance drops over time. See here:

Macintosh Performance Guide: Special Report— Real World SSD Performance

The Intel drives are probably going to be OK - not tested in the above but generally not seen to lose performance over time. Some others drop down to hard disk level speeds after a month or two.

We really need somebody to do this "seasoning" test above for all drives on the market.
