Wide-Angle Masks

Featured Replies

Can anyone recommend a mask that offers a wide field of view and low volume? I'm frustrated with being 'blinkered' by my old Sea Hornet mask. I want to get something with better peripheral vision, but I don't want a high volume mask that feels like its lifting off my face.

Looking at the Tusa Pano-geo and the Tusa M-14 Visualator at the moment. Anyone used either of these before?

The visualator looks good, I wouldn't go for the other one since it seems to be out of production and looks like high volume.

I have a Scubapro Marin right now and like it a lot, low volume and very good peripheral viz.

Found out the visualator is fairly high volume, so now looking at the Atomic Aquatics frameless - has 85 degrees horizontal and 75 degrees vertical view, which is basically the best specs I can find. And not as chunky as the visualator!

For masks: don't worry about specifications. but try them.

Finally settled on the Atomic Aquatics frameless with a clear skirt. Getting rid of the frame improves the field of view hugely and the transparent skirt model offers near full peripheral vision. The volume is suprisingly low as well as the glass sits a lot closer to your face.

Very nice!!!
