I have a friend who is from Surin and now lives and works in BK. She sells Isaan food for a living. ###### tasty (and spicy) food. Several months ago (6 months?) she referenced a cooking competition in Surin that she was involved with. It invoved Thai Jasmine Rice, as well as Som Thum Thai. Does anybody know anything about any such competition? From what I can understand (and translation is an issue) she did quite well, won a small cash prize and some local prestige. From what I can understand ITV was involved filming the contest.

Any answers would be greatly appreciated.
