I have a pic (which i won't show here) of, at the time, my mum 76, my sis 54 and me 44. On a beach in Kenya.

No need for shouting. Just shooting the breeze. Reading books, drinking beers. My poor brother was the only male there. He kept quite calm too with the local herbs.

But perhaps 40 years ago there would have been a bit of shouting and teenage sulks!!!

They might act all sweet and nice when they are trying to get to your money but once a serious relationship begins the volume is turned right up. As I already stated, I don't want ANY woman for more than just short term company. I've already done my part breeding children and raising them to be responsible adults. If I just want company without any sex involved I'll pick some guy who has more in common with my interests. I don't need a nanny, I'm a better cook, and cleaning is something I can hire someone to do. When I've had nothing better to do I've shared a drink or two with some of those old heaters on Soi 6. I just listen to their stories and divide everything they tell me by 5 to get some resemblance of the truth. It can be quite entertaining if you ask the right questions. I wouldn't even have taken her picture except she was annoying. She was continually screetching at her children or grand children playing at the pool. It was the loud noise that brought me to the window thinking that someone was being murdered. I believe she was German.

These days I always look at what type of person Im dealing with as opposed to their outside shell. One of the ugliest women I ever met also happened to be one of the most beautiful ones, she was a wonderful human being.

I would be the first to admitt, as a teenager in Thailand I passed a bit of time in and around some of these bars and sois but the novelty factor wore off reasonable fast & I wonder whats wrong with me when I see and hear of men much older than myself who seem somewhat obsessed with this sort of thing. Anyway, Im not judging Ian and I can see through his reports he apparently lives a very diverse life & good for him. A lot of men might be "dazzled" by Thai women because of the preconceived ideas they have of them. Most men who like all women in general but who are attracted to Thai women, will usually have a more balanced outlook on women and treat ALL women like human beings (with respect), rather than objects. I guess its also that most Thai women will not tell some god awful inane man to f-off. I dont either actually, but I will walk away if i need to..but lots of Thai women may consider that rude..so they politely put up with the mundaneity to be respectful. Of course, though, Mr Average Clueless, having read some crap about Thai women finding them attractive no matter what they look like, think this means she is interested. I cant even count the amount of times ive seen a man do this to a Thai woman and then, when he leaves, a huge sigh of relieve comes over her. Or she looks at me with an "OMG" rolls eyes expression. Or, if with a friend, they burst out laughing and start talking about how they cant believe that awful farang dude would embarrass her like that.

For, i have kind of noticed, there is a relatively high percentage of western men here that probably would have a hard time finding a women in the west...even women who are more matched well to them (body, background, age, etc). In Thailand they can hook up with a girl less than half their age who makes them feel smart and in control (because some may hold the purse strings and give them little financial independence).
