I want to install another sink in our rented house. Not looking for anything fancy. Just a cheap thai style sink. Like half table/half sink. It needs to be installed in the kitchen all connections for water and drain are there already.

Can anybody recommend me a cheap but decent local shop. preferable airport plaza/road to hang dong area.

Home Mart,Home Pro, Global House and every neighborhood hardware store.

Global House has a whole row of them

Has anyone seen for sale those double-basin kitchen sinks that are also extra deep?

I got one at Home Pro. Not much of an improvement on the other SS sinks TBH. Still sounds like a drum when the water is running and water still splashes out of the tinny metal basin. I'd rip the whole marble countertop out to get rid of it if someone coud tell me where I could buy a decent deep basin, enameled, cast iron sink.

I know all those hardware stores sell them, like home pro. But do all of them sell them for roughly the same price as local hardware stores or are the Home Pro ones more expensive?

Do all these shop deliver them home and install them, at what costs?

So it's more a question of where to do this cheaply, as I always think Home Pro and such are expensive, but this is not really based on much, just my feeling unsure.gif I dont know much about these kind of things.

Thnx for all the advise so far.

Lots of the aluminium sink units were on sale at one of the large hardware stores about halfway down Sri Donchai RD (road that runs east from SE corner of moat) - on right hand side coming from moat.

Also some at a small shop near Tung Hotel Rd intersection near the railway station.

I'm not sure on prices but the store on Sri Donchai looked reasonable quality for a reasonable price.

If you have drain and water set up, should be easy to fix a tap and drain hose by yourself.

The one I bought at HomePro was very deep in both sinks and was a higher quality stainless steel. 8,800 Baht. You can buy a basic undercounter or overcounter stainless sink at Global House for about 2,000 Baht. You can buy one in its own freestanding cabinet at Global House for about 3,500 Baht.

To be sure we are talking about the same SS sink, are you referring to the deep dbl basin sink whose basins are approximately 20cm deep each and whose overall measurements are approximately 55cm X 83cm? Is your sink roughly this size? If so, does the water splash out from the (bottom of) the basin and onto the counter?

Locating an enameled, deep dbl basin cast iron sink would be the 'solve-all'! I would be interested in one of those, too!

Mine is 48cm x 83cm x 18cm. Maybe your 20cm sink is deep enough not to splash. And maybe you've got a kinder wife who doesn't nag "you got the sink wet".

Ha-Ha-Ha I hear 'ya! I was probably a little off the mark with the 20cm measurement. I am going to try to locate a cast iron sink - 'if' they even exist in this land where everyone seems to smile except the wives in the kitchen.... :-|

You can get stainless sinks 25 cm deep then you get 2+more with the granite/marble top. I have one, Teka brand, no splash, no water noise. Do you have an aerator on faucet? It should stop the noise and splash unless you have very very high water pressure or very thin steel.
