ive just visted the bbc sport website for regular updates on the u.s. open at pebble beach and ive just stumbled across a quote from woods moaning about the greens.

so whats his problem, is that its his only third ever round in a major that he hasnt made a birdie and his oversized ego has taken a bit of a knock.

from what i could make out from reading all the blogs from his round, it looks like hes only got himself to blame,as with anything that concerns woods and his mentality of if it aint going wright he starts whinging and moaning and chucking clubs around.(didnt take him long to get back to is old ways, so much for turning over a new leaf)

everyones in the same boat though, but he starts going on about the fact that there are only a certain amount of players under par and about the fact that theres so many players that are grouped together within shouting distance of the lead. forgive me isnt that what a major champinship is meant to be all about and the fact that it should be a sterner and stiffer task.

i wouldnt mind, but if anyone should know about winning majors and at pebble beach, he should.

golf aint all about birdies, eagles, par fives that can be reached in two and greens that are easier to read than a four year olds vocabulary book.

on the plus side though, at least we might not be subjected to so much of that annoying "GET IN THE HOLE" crap you usually get on the u.s. tour

Somebody I have been wondering about is Michael Campbell. I notice he shot 78 and followed that up with an 83.

Do you have any insider information on him, TF?

do you mean the kiwi michael cambell?

no i do not have any insider info. he doesnt seemed to of done much different with his game or changed much. still ploughs along on the european tour. went through a hot streak 5/ 6 years back. if i remember wrightly he won the u.s open and either the p.g.a at wentworth or the world matchplay event, cant remember now.

guess theres just something not quite ticking in his game. seems a down to earth kind of guy, with all the right values. jsut cant string a couple of good rounds together to get himself into contention.
