One of the things that's amazed me, as I've started looking at coffees available in stores around BKK, is the REALLY wide variation in prices among different stores for the same exact brand/size of coffees...

My wife likes one particular brand that's regularly on sale at Paragon and Emporium food halls for 251 baht per jar. The regular prices at other major supermarks for that brand seems to be anywhere from 329 to 359 baht...

The other day, I was looking at Nescafe Taster's Choice decaf instant 200g jars. Among different stores I noticed, the prices ranged by more than 100 baht from high to low... and those weren't sale prices, just regular store shelf prices...

It tends to make one think the markup rate on imported foods can be REALLY high....because surely the stores with the lower prices aren't selling those items at a loss.
