We have received confirmation that Passport is ready for collection, we will post on Monday when we have the result. We are just a little concerned we were the first out of sequence but also hopeful as he was not interviewed like last time. A long weekend ahead !

My thoughts are with you and your family Jason,I shouldnt worry too much abought being out of synch.I think maybe child applications are a little more involved.I hope on Monday its a Yes because my 2 step grandchildren are nearly at top of our list.

Well it's all happening now isn't it :o)

Congratulations skeets !!! Good luck for all the years to come.

jason, you have a result at last, that's great, I'm sure it's good news, Good luck for Monday.

A sincere thanks to everyone for their support and contributions, it has made this long wait bearable. I'm quite sure that if it had been a 12 week wait and I didn't know everyone was in the same boat then I'd have been a complete wreck by the end of it.

I'm lucky enough to be off to Thailand tomorrow (I can't wait to see my wife and stepson again) but my access to the internet will be intermittent at best for most of my stay (10 days) so I wont be able to maintain the list much during that time. I will be back though, I'd like to see this through and keep the list running until people stop contributing.

Good luck all

We applied in July and put down a date in August. Another date in September was also mentioned. The very fact that there has been no reference to any date mentioned merely reinforces my belief that they just leave your application sitting around for weeks before even opening it for the first time.

Have to agree. We put our application in on June 25th and asked for I believe 11th August or roundabout then. I think we ended up getting it first week of Sept.

Perhaps if there was an urgent reason for a certain date they might take it into consideration, but if not I reckon it just gets ignored and added to the pile....

Will be going down this road myself soon.

Seems most people are waiting 6-10 weeks..or even longer :realangry:

If you look here, 100% of SV applications are dealt with within 60 working days:

http://www.ukvisas.gov.uk/en/howtoapply/processingtimes

But if they can process 67% in 30 working days, why does it take double that time for the other 33%?:blink:

Hi Everyone,

Fantastic thread, most helpfull for all the anxious waiters out there. Anyway add me to the bottom of the list, application went in on August the 20th so not too anxious just yet, except that our flights are booked for the 1st November. Well at the time the visa's were taking 8 or so weeks so i thought 10 weeks would be fine. Thankfully i can change the dates one time for free so i'm now thinking 1st Decemeber just to be on the safe side.

Good luck everybody,

Diddyman

I am so pleased to find this thread.

My wife submitted her application on the 14th September and it is driving me crazy already, so what I will be like in 9 or 10 weeks is anyones guess.

Does anyone actually know the process once the application is submitted to Regent House?

If they showed a step by step procedure and how an application is going would be useful

We applied on 3rd Aug (seems ages ago now) and put a travel date of 1st Sept, makes no difference it seems, they put the date the ECO deals with it if your travel date is in the past! GOOD LUCK

Yes a track your application that makes sense would be helpful, it was the same when I had a CRB check for work, its very frustrating - just shows that there are somethings that money cannot pay for! Tomorrow will be 8 weeks for us - so another 2 weeks before its likely ---- not easy but as what has been said before it helps this thread/forum to keep each other going!

Step son's Visa Granted after 23 weeks and two attemps we finally have lift off ! Thanks for all the words of encouragement Good luck for all those waiting !

Nice one Jason, you certainly deserve it after the extremely long wait. All the best for the future for you, your wife and step son.

It's painful but getting a YES feels like winning the lottery!

It's one of those things that money can't buy, like health - you can never be certain of a result so when you get one it's a huge relief.

Congratulations Jason and all others who have been successful and managed the pain barrier (long wait) better than I.

I am a complete Newbie who has struggled through the 1st week of waiting, I still believe in miracles :-)

Does anyone know how long Regent House have the visa application before sending to the Embassy?

Do they just make sure everything is there or do they check everything first?

They check everything is there in front of the applicant, before taking the money. If anything is missing they will advise the applicant to go away and come back with the missing items. However, if the applicant insists then they must accept the application and forward it to the embassy; even if something vital is missing.

Applications are forwarded to the embassy at least once a day.

Pedant's corner.

Regent's House does not have the application at all; it is a building which houses, among other offices, the UK Visa Application Centre.

Not sure what you mean when you say "solicitor sent e mail."

If an applicant has subscribed to the SMS service, then the VAC sends them a text to say that the passport is ready for collection.

If the embassy wanted to interview the applicant then they would contact them directly.

Who is this solicitor? Do you mean that you used an agent and they have sent this e-mail?

Hello,

I now have a clearer picture,--my son and daughter inlaw used Uk Solicitor to help them .Apparently the solicitor contacted someone who told her the passports would be ready today. So she emailed my family to let them know, and since that, they have checked on line which was the way they asked to be told ,and the passports are ready for collection. So hopefully they can collect Monday ,and fingers crossed have aa favourable result
