I was hoping to apply for an extension to my current Non O multi entry visa. I have just noticed that stamped across the bottom of the visa in my passport is "NO EXTENSION OF STAY". Why would this be there and although it might sound a daft question does it litterally mean what it says and do I now have to get another Non O multi from KL or similiar ?.......thanks

Don't worry. Just go ahead and apply for your extension if you qualify.

Some embassies/consulates put this stamp under every visa.

Depends what type of extension you are going to apply for!

1 Year extension based on retirement of marriage is no problem, just go ahead and apply.

A 30 day extension (like you would get on a tourist visa) you cannot get.

That is the reason for the warning notice - people who have used tourist visas assume a semi-automatic 30 day extension of stay is available. For non immigrant visa entry this is not the case so that stamp is made. Should not be a problem for one year extensions of stay.

Just to clarify for others who may be reading this, I was talking about a 1 yr extension based on marriage.......thanks to everyone for the great feedback as usual.:D
