Rainstorms cause flash floods and power cuts across Pattaya

PATTAYA: -- To remind us that the rainy season is well and truly here in Pattaya, Monday Night brought a significant amount of rain to the city which caused chaos in some areas. A number of power cuts around Pattaya were reported which affected the local Cable TV service which was off-air for some time. Flash floods were reported at the usual hotspots, on the Sukumvit Road in South Pattaya, the North end of Pattaya Third Road and many small roads were under-water and pumps had to be brought in by the Pattaya Fire Rescue Service

But the lake seems to be at an all time low,how long can the water last?

It was raining long time on Soi Siam Country last night, but I did not expect any flooding downtown. Rayong and Chaesongsao got much more rain though. I think we will have a water problem sooner or later. Last time I saw Maprachan so low was in 2006.

Why not connect run offs to retaining ponds. This water then could be used. The ponds could be connected to the reservior. Instead it is all drained into the sea.

Water would have to run uphill to fill the reservoir though :whistling:
