Where is the cheapest place to buy Computer compnents in south east asia?

Is there any cheap places in Bangkok or am I better off going to Singapore??

I need a large amount

Chris

If you are buying a large amount, shipping will be a big factor. Carrying it in from another country could be a problem, and shipping in large amounts is also troublesome. Then there's the problem of warranties. Basically, just buy them in whatever you will use them.

Thailand's component prices for common items, such as mainstream processors, VGA, harddisks, etc are pretty competitive. It's only for certain items (digital cameras, scanners, printers, exotic items, etc) that you will find a significant discount in other countries.

Hi thanks for your help.

I was told it may be cheaper in Singapore? I'm looking to purchase arpund 5000 CPU Pentium 4 from distribution. Do you think it will be worth the effort or might I be wating my time? I'm going to Singapore on monday you see to try and find some contacts.

Thanks

Chris

Most Thai IT distributors order from Singapore. If you're going to get this much, you can just approach one of the major distributors (D Computer, A&L, Ingram, etc) here and ask for the price. They'll probably be happy to deal with you and get you a nice discount for a FOB shipment. Much easier than going to S'pore, and the price won't be that much different.

Pentium 4s are made in Malaysia IIRC...

maybe a trip to KL might be the go?
