From Bangkok, about 8 hours by car or train. 9-10 by bus. Couple of hotels in town 600-1000 baht and some resorts (st type), 400B.

From Suvarnabhumi to Sisaket, it's only 550km which can easily be done in under 7 hours. I think it's kind of a fun drive with plenty of PTT's to stop for gas/food. If you drive, make sure you take Hwy. 24 to the south. It's 4 lanes for quite a ways and when it does switch to 2 lane, it's pretty wide.

Train timetables are here. I've never done this route on the train.

You could also fly to Ubon Ratchathani and drive an hour west to Sisaket. Air Asia has a promotion price to Ubon right now for around 1100b.

These coordinates can be put into Google Maps/Earth.

Baan Kaew Hotel in the city isn't too bad.

15° 6'39.95"N, 104°19'56.84"E

North of town a couple minutes there is a nice hotel http://www.lanlookmai.com/

15° 9'36.52"N, 104°19'25.19"E

Khao Phra Wihan is by far the best tourist attraction. I'm pretty sure the temple is closed now. I don't know if the whole park is or not.

14°23'32.78"N, 104°40'47.90"E

Million Bottle Temple made entirely out of bottles is interesting to visit once.

14°37'5.88"N, 104°25'5.65"E

Wat Prathai Ruang Rong Temple is interesting. It has a nice lookout point at the top of it.

15° 9'56.34"N, 104°17'55.56"E

There's also a map of Sisaket posted by nongfrank post #40 on this link (an updated version has been posted since but i can't find the link)

If you arrive by train, transport can be found by looking across the train tracks across the square towards 7-11. Samlors, motorbikes are parked next to the ATM and the local version of a taxi (pickup)are usually parked in front of the mobile phone shops and pharmacy (E4). Look for little cardboard signs on the pickup roof.

Franks is worth a visit for a drink, bite to eat and local info. He's now located opposite the soi 13 entrance (G1)

Depending on your budget, Prompiman Hotel is a popular place to stay.

Thank you for the reply , any tourist attraction there in sisaket ?

No

My wife and I have a house there (she's born there), but I only manage to stay max 4 days and we are off to Pattaya again (our main house is there) as I am bored as hel_l.

Well different people different taste.

I don't go out much in Pattaya anymore but loves the shopping/restaurants/beach scene.
