Pletnev Targets Alleged Slanderous Russian Media

PATTAYA: -- Appearing for his fourth time at Pattaya District Court on Tuesday, Russian conductor Mikhail Pletnev was visibly frustrated over the constant attention on his case, telling a Pattaya Daily News (PDN) journalist of his dissolution regarding certain reports in the Russian media.

Pattaya, the 24th of August 2010: Required to appear at court every 12-day in accordance with his bail agreement, Pletnev was much more visibly frustrated as he fronted for court on Tuesday morning. The world-renowned musician is currently on bail over local police charges that he had sexual intercourse with a 14-year-old boy in Pattaya. At present, the testimony of the young boy’s mother is the only solid evidence revealed to the media regarding the case.

Reluctant to provide any statements to the gathered press, in his first court appearance without his Thai lawyer, Pletnev completed formalities in little under an hour, stopping only to remark that the gathered media, namely Russia’s NTV correspondent, must have more pressing news to report than his ‘check-in’ at court.
