This weekend we're going to be staying at a friend's condo (Ban Rom Mai) which is near the Cha Am Regent. We're planning to drive in to Hua Hin to dine and shop now and then, but I wonder about parking. When I was there last month we went in to Hua Hin by taxi, but I noticed that there seemed to be little parking available.

This article also indicates that parking is a problem.

So, should we leave the car at the condo and take a taxi, or will we be able to find parking? If so, where?

TIA

Really, this isn't JUST a Hua Hin problem, BUT-

You could always park at the City hall, just tell em you had no alternatives...then again, it's full up too;

Maybe near the police station? ooops, just remembered, often times they park in the median since that street's full of permanently parked 'taxi hires' as well...

OR: you could set out in the a.m. for best chance (don't dare unpark tho or you're driving in circles once again)

OR: get creative and move some selfishly parked motorbikes around (with great care...)

OR: park at the Hilton underground, buy 100 bahts worth at the cafe and get your ticket stamped (don't tell anyone bout this tho, this is our little secret;)

OR: park on the periphery, several blocks from the restaurant etc you're visiting in the core area and pls remember to smile as you pass all the "taxi Hire' guys along the way, asking if you'd like a lift :o:D

Try the Fishermnans Wharf, 20 Baht if the parking man catches you. Quite smelly but not far to walk to most places "down town".

Park at the Hilton, have a drink there before going back, get a stamp on your parking ticket = no charge! :o

Its a holiday today so the entire Benz driving idiot population of Bangkok has arrived and Hua Hin is grid locked. Chances of finding a space today are about the same as our fearless leader coming out with a sensible policy for once.
