Bedlam Not Appearing On View New Content

Featured Replies

Hi Bedlamites,I'm not sure if my memory is failing me but i seem to distinctly recall that after the recent forum changes, initially i was getting Bedlam threads appearing when i clicked on View New Content. I remember thinking what a good change it was, as the fact that it didn't appear before meant i rarely found my way here. Time passed by and the other day it just occured to me that Bedlam threads are no longer showing up. Did i just imagine it or is there a way i can set things up so they do appear?Cheers.

No you didn't imagine it and now is as it was prior to the big change.

Now, since the change, I have to sign in every time, tried everything, cleared cache etc., but to no avail.

I must be getting old, as the good old days always seem better now.

Sorry to hear that you are still struggling with that problem - very annoying. I had the same troubles to beginn with but the suggested fixes did the trick for me. Forum support haven't been able to help i take it?

I found it wasn't until i took the drastic measure of deleting absolutely everything - ie temporary files, cookies, history, form data, passwords etc etc - that it rectified itself.

Pretty sure g decided to take it back off view new content but will check.

log out issues: Did you guys enable third party cookies too?

Why should I have to reset my cookies when everything worked fine before the change - and I'm not sure I want to allow third party cookies.

It was happening to me initially.

All OK now, sign in autimatically,

Summun told me what to do.

I forget what it was I did, but love it...... he he he

Really? If so that's a shame. What's the harm? Gives more exposure to a section of the site that i'm sure gets overlooked a lot and underused.

I think a lot of people check it out, post once or twice, and decide it's too silly and cliquey for their tastes.

That's an interesting conclusion OC but one i can't comment on as i come here too infrequently. Virtually all the threads i view i do so via View New Content, as this is the page that allows you to see what the hot topics are throughout the whole forum. Why Bedlam needs to be excluded i'm not sure. Guess there must be a reason.

Bedlam used to be included in the New Content list until an upgrade a few years back. At the time, from memory, Admin explained they removed it because it was a private forum, not available to most posters, and it caused consternation for people trying to open threads they weren't entitled to see.

After the latest upgrade and the posts appeared on the list again, I don't know if all members could view them or if only those qualified could. If open to all, I guess the same complaints would have surfaced.

Thanks for the explanation OC. I must admit i just assumed that the system would be smart enough so as to not show Bedlam threads for those members not entitled to view. I can understand why if that is not the case, it would cause problems.
