So Peter Crouch is heading for Liverpool.

I think he is overated and I think this buy will do the Pool no favours. I am not a fan of Baros either by the way. morientes and Cisse are in a different league.

The other 2 are makeweights IMHO

I dont care a shit about Liverpool. But i think Crouch wud b a bad deal for Liverpool, they need a fast and scoring striker not a person who only heads.

At 7 mill he is ridiculously overated. I dont think he will make it at Liverpool. He had one good season at Soton adn then he has be come an amazing player. He did nothing of note at Villa and Redknapp has a great knack of getting players to play to the best of their abilities.

He could prove me wrong and make a great partnership with Cisse, the tall target man and the skillful speedy striker works well, but to spend this much one a player who has not performed consistently over a few seasons is a big gamble.

Won't Morientes be the first choice striker with Cisse? I can only see Crouch as a super-sub behind those 2.

One less team to worry about in the Championship League,Southamton are doomed for a long period down,lost so many players already.

Crouch is not brilliant,but he would have helped them go up maybe.

I forgot about Morientes. Hardly setitng the premiership alight last season but the same could be said of Bergkamp, Henry and Pires. They seemed to come good though!

I guess it would be Cisse and Morientes as first choice. Morientes is a great header of the ball. Maybe Crouch wouldnt mind playing second fiddle to these 2 players?

Being a Pool fan I am a little gutted.

However I hope I am proved wrong, it does give us more options though, as you can imagine not too many defenders will be able to beat him in the air.

I would of prefered Kuyt.

The only reason i am gutted as a Spurs fan is that we sold him to QPR (I think) for around 500 or 600k...now he is being touted around at 7 mill!

For the price I think it wasn't the best buy, considering how much was payed for Morientes (5.5, with a possibility of it raising to 6.5) and I'm sure everyone who has some knowledge of football would agree that Morintes is a lot better the Crouch. I think Crouch is overrated, although perhaps with better players around him he may do better himself, only time will tell
