New passport
I had thought of that, but will Immigration be OK with putting his Re-entry permit in a brand new, unused passport. Presumably they won't put one in his cancelled passport? Although we use CW for our Extensions, I've been able to get Re-entry permits in Rayong, and obviously we could get them at the airport as well. -

Putin-Trump effect? Majority Brexit voters now want ‘free movement’ single European market
In a recent survey, a majority of Britons who voted for Brexit, snapping their formal integration ties with the European Union, said they were ready to return to free movement in exchange for access to a single European market. The cross-Europe study also found a similar sentiment on the other side of the Brexit — EU member states. An apparent U-turn in the sentiments of the Brexit voters comes in the wake of Russian President Vladimir Putin’s decision to invade Ukraine — the war is nearing its third anniversary — and the return of Donald Trump to the White House to “Make America Great Again”, a campaign slogan that also takes aim at financial ties between the US and Europe, including the idea of pushing a reset button on NATO. https://www.firstpost.com/world/putin-trump-effect-majority-brexit-voters-now-want-free-movement-single-european-market-13843836.html Trump & Putin. Bringing people together. Who would have thought it?. -

entry Thailand without return ticket
I am staying in Thailand since more than 20 years with a Non Imm O (retirement) visa which expires on April 4th. I need to go to my home country for cancer treatment next week and very likely I will be unable to return before April 4th. It is still too early to apply at Immigration Office here for an extension of my Non Imm O visa but I should be able get a visa waiver upon entry and then restart the visa extension procedures (I have 800.000 THB in the bank) Can I enter Thailand with a one way ticket? -

UK Population Set to Surge to 72.5 Million by 2032, Driven by Migration
Indeed. However net migration is a mathematical equation and like every other equation it has 2 sides. Every tom, dick and harry just wants to focus on one side of the equation and ignore the fact that those leaving the country have been reducing for some time. The country shot itself in the foot with brexit which has deterred people from retiring to the EU, not only that it caused many to return to the UK, adding to the wrong side of the equation. If the money donated to Rwanda had been put into incentives to retire abroad it may well have lead to a different outcome. -

Teenage Brit Involved in Fatal Road Collision in Pattaya
I'd say it's very unlikely he'll go to prison at all, unless they find he was under the influence of something. More likely that an 'appropriate' amount of compensation to the victims' families will be agreed, and case closed.- 1
