Having Problems With Java.

Ok. Firstly i have been having some problems with Java. Well there is one Scottish forum/chat . Someone gave me a link but when i try to load the page then it says Java applet failed. So i have been onto Javas website. I can get an update 4. Which is what i had. But i tried to play some of the Java games and it said that you dont have Java installed. I think its because its an update that i downloaded. Any suggestions? Does anyone know where and how i can get a Java platform original and then update late. Not too stressed as others things are working. But would like to get this sorted if possible. Cheers in advance.

Jock, try to download from following link:

Choose the "Windows (Offline Installation)" and save to your PC, then run the file...

Be sure to uninstall Java and all its files and folder first and then install the latest version.

Java is very version oriented, so can be pain in the arse at times. Latest and greatest is Java 5.0. Give it a whirl or maybe revert back to the old version.

Ok. Just uninstalling the previous versions. We'll see if this off line install works. Will let you know.
