Personally, I ALWAYS assume that some idiot is going to hit me and ride accordingly. In the 3 years I've been riding here in LOS, I've had at least 10 times more close calls and near disasters than I had in over 40 years of bike riding in the States.

Says the guy who rear ended his missus not so long ago?

Ohh, you WOULD have to remember that. Cold, very cold. 555555

On the other hand, it doesn't qualify as a "close call" or "near miss", but an actual <deleted> up!

Anyway, just got back from Honda. They got the touring windscreen in and called me to let me know. I'll get some pics tomorrow and post them. While I was there, also had someone (Thai) bring in a black/silver for something, and then a red/silver a few minutes after that. Seemed to be a good day for CBR's to come in.

This afternoon when I turned the key to the 'on' postition I noticed a noise that I hadn't heard before. Normally I just hear the electrics doing their thing for a few seconds but today there was a loud, continuous whirring noise I'm guessing was the fan. I'd never heard it before so just checking that's normal? I didn't notice whether it stopped when the engine started as I couldn't hear over the engine and exhaust.

Ok, here's the pics.

Nice, is there one for the 250 as well? Surely that big gold Buddha round your neck should prevent any accidents! ;)

There is one for the 250. Someone on here got one a little while back, but don't remember who it was. From what he said, if I remember correctly, they are NOT the same and mount differently, but don't quote me on that. Price is 1,400 baht.

Maybe it's the fuel pump priming?

To be honest i like apropriate's unofficial one more.

Agreed.

Don't want something that looks like an afterthought.

It reminds me of those awful clip on sunglass people used to wear. Sorry :(

The 250 unoficial version looks fully integrated...

That should only last a few seconds.

Should. The OP didn't state how long the key was in the 'on' position until he hit the start button so it was just a guess (hence the ? mark)....

A screen over a screen... How bizarre... That's an official Honda product?!

Considering the design cues not really out of place from other products:

Normally it does but today when I got home and had turned off the engine I turned the key back to the 'on' position to check the lights and noticed that the whirring noise stayed on for much longer, maybe as long as 20-30secs, before I turned it off. I tried again a few minutes later and it didn't do it so hopefully it was just a one off, I'd just filled up with fuel so maybe that had something to do with it. I'm off up to Doi Tung tomorrow so will check it again and see if the same thing happens.

Even Hitler loves Honda!

2010 - R1200GS - R1200GS Adventure

Standard Package $16,400 $18,700

Premium Package $17,695 $20,245

Destination Charge (not included in MSRP) $495

no wonder he's pissed...

he could have bought about 5 or 6 reliable cbr250's with the same cash...

and had a blast tooling around the black forest roads with a few of his SS friends

btw... i once owned a R100GS - last one of the r/100 series...

bought it about '95 - i loved that bike -

great ride, great memories - i was sad to have to sell it.

but now, i love my cbr250...

You mean you came back after a trip and then heard that sound. I have heard it too i believe its a ventilator cooling something. I had this same sound on other bikes. It switches off later automatically.

Does anyone have any idea what one of the bigger xena disk locks could be used on the CBR250r. There is a card you can printout but it does not help me much.

They have a lot of those locks at Panda Rider and they can probably make sure you get the right one.

Yes and it was hot too so think it was a fan of some sort. Happened again after chasing a ZX10 up Doi Tung, not surprising really! 14kms of steep, twisty, mountain roads and did it all without having to shift from 3rd gear between 5-10,000rpm.

ok guys a update on my bike going all black. I was getting tired of finding a good vinyl shop and some said it wont hold for a long time, painting was not an option so i had to find another solution. As the fairings of the 150 and 250 are looking quite same i thought lets check if they fit, because the 150 is available in all black. Luckily we have a nice farang owned Honda dealer here on board! So i checked with Brian from SumetCycle and it turned out that they should fit!

Now i am waiting for the fairings which should arrive at Monday, will post some pictures then.

The rims i wont paint, i will anodize them after Songkran.

As the all black CBR 250 that is being sold in America and elsewhere is made in Thailand surely it shouldn't be too hard to source the black 250 parts to replace the silver with? Perhaps Brian could make some enquiries, I'm sure I'm not the only one who would place an order!

Actually Brain checked that and he said the part numbers are the same. So it doesn't matter which one you order. Whole set to replace all grey parts less than 3000bht
