Construction Behind Petchaburi Road

Featured Replies

Can anyone tell me waht they are doing behind Petchaburi Road. The Road parallel, (I don't know its name) has been closed for some time and the contruction looks to be underground. Is it the MRT extension?

Its gonna be the Rail terminal that will serve the new airport.

That particular underground excavation is to provide an underpass at that junction. However in addition it is intended to provide a new rail terminal to the new airport from the existing railway station which is located near PhayaThai BTS and very near the excavation you are referring to.

The junction in question is Sri Ayudhya with Phaya Thai road.

Thanon Kampaeng Phet 7, runs parallel to New Phetchaburi, past the entrance to RCA, and has also been closed for a couple of months. As the other posters have said it is for the new rail link to the new airport, although I believe here it is going to be an overhead rail link.

Caused no end of trouble for traffic as this road used to take a lot of cars from Rama 9 and Phetchaburi.
