D-Link Adsl 2/2+ Router Problem

Featured Replies

i just got internet from True, but as it was not a full year contract they would not provide a router, so I went out to Pantip and got one. Everything seemed to be going fine, but towards the end of the set up wizard when you are supposed to select country and ISP provider from a drop down list, Thailand is not one of the options. The D-link tech support doesnt switch over to English until 6 pm according to their website, but if anyone else has run into this problem or has any ideas about what could be done it would be greatly appreciated. The router itself is in the topic title, D-Link ADSL 2/2+ Modem Router.

Have not had this problem myself, but have used D-link hardware before. It's Shit.

Take it back and buy a linksys or netgear.

or

configure it manually without using the wizard

u can just manually configure the router. You do not need to use the ISP setup wizards.

My D-Link router setup for TRUE is

Time zone 7

PPPoE/PPPoA

Name

Password

VPI 0

VCI 100

Connection Type PPPoE LLC

What is the model number of the D-Link unit?

For many D-Link units you can configure the unit by using a browser...

Open a browser window and enter the IP address in the browser address field:

IP ADDRESS: http://192.168.1.1

USERNAME: admin

PASSWORD: admin

Then configure the unit. You should be able to find instructions on-line or follow those in the box...

example: http://global.dlink.com.sg/site_support/DSL-2640BT/FAQ/07.pdf

The WAN connection type is PPPoE (PPP over Ethernet)

Encapsulation = LLC

VPI = 0

VCI = 100

You should have a username from TRUE, something like username@truehisp, and a password.
