Nissan recalls 2.14 million vehicles worldwide due to ignition problem

YOKOHAMA, JAPAN (BNO NEWS) – Nissan on Thursday announced that it has issued a voluntary recall on 2.14 million vehicles worldwide due to an ignition problem.

The Japanese vehicle company said the problem could cause the engine to stall and not restart, but there have been no reported crashes or deaths due to the issue.

The vehicles involved in the recall were built from August 2003 to July 2006 and include models Nissan Cube, March, Mycra, the Nissan Tiida sedan, the Nissan Titan pickup and the Infiniti QX56 SUV.

The vehicles were built in Japan, U.S., the U.K., Spain, China, and Taiwan. Of the recalled vehicles, 762,000 are in North America, 835,000 are in Japan, and 354,000 are in Europe.
