Subtitles For Sabai Dee Luang Prabang

Featured Replies

Hiya.... I did not know where to post this... maybe someone can move it to where appropriate if it's wrong. I have downloaded this movie but I won't understand everything without the English subtitles... Does anyone know where I can find them? I have already searched all over the Internet. If anyone knows that will be great!

Thanks!

For some reason Thai films shown in the theatre with English subtitles are released locally on DVD without the Eng subs. I have never been able to figure out why they do this since they already made the subs? I'm not sure about "Good Morning Luang Prabang", but will look at the DVD later and follow up here.

Maybe the video distributor wasn't granted / or didn't buy the right to make and sell DVDs with English subtitles. I've thought about this often and it's the only logical conclusion I can come to.

My DVD has 2 options for subtitles "Thai On", "Thai Off".

The principle language in the film is mainly spoken Lao so the version I saw had Thai hard-coded subtitles for the Thai audience.

There was also a bit of English dialogue in the film eg from Ananda Everingham's mum. But at the time, I didn't find any English subs too
