Anyone advise me on the following, been on the web but not really any definite answers.

2006 3.0 turbo diesel Vigo motor (prerunner model not 4x4).

When is it recommended to change the timing belt and do the valve adjustment?

Indeed, the drive belt also ( fan, air con, steering pump, alternator)?

Cheers :)

It is a bit vague about interval for belt. Think it's 60,000 miles ( 100k ) but don't hold me to that. The vigo does have a T/Belt warning light in the dash to change it. :)

100k km for timingbelt

the other belts are inspected at every 10k km/6 months service, and the lifetime depends totally on engine hours and not km. average speed in bkk is 15kmh and on the highway 115 kmh, loading the bkk belts plenty of hours to cover 10k km. Since they are inexpensive, I d say 80k km replace them anyway.

In the old days you could replace a broke belt with nylon stockings for a few km, but not possible on todays engines, and load from alternator, pump and AC is really heavy

Thanks guys.

Both my belts need doing then, any info on head valve clearance check?

Its not noisey, but if a motor becomes noisey the damage has already been done.

Cheers :)

Here is another song for your efforts, if not for any doing on my part. Just inspiration :)
