Look at what Hughden has posted as a guide. The challenge is meant to bring the artist out in you and get you thinking beyond the snapshot.

I have deleted several images that do not meet the parameters of the challenge.

I do like Benz$me's one eyed monster.

Cdnvc bothers to put together a challenge, with very clearly set-out rules; and then people just post whatever they feel like. Pointless.

You have a good point, Hughden, but there weren't many entries as it was. I'm not sure if my "keys" pictures fit the qualifcations. They aren't on the list of things

For the most part I agree with Hugh. As for the shot of the keys by Ian, it technically isn't what was asked for but was a decent shot that was at least in the spirit of the topic. (shallower depth of field needed imo)

Hughden definitely takes the crown on this one, though I'll leave the topic open for others to add their contributions as they happen.

Is that light bulb your own photo?

It looks like a commercial image from a web site.

I took the shot as a lighting exercise after reading The Strobist.

It took me all day, soldering and getting it suspended in mid air.

It came out of the camera looking like that with just a tad of post processing, adjusting levels a bit.

Excellent set of photos JWJ. Have you read the book "Light, science and magic"? Explains the science of studio lighting in a very clear way and shows how to photograph some of the trickier subjects. Good read.

I noticed no restriction on using modes etc. These were taken using the B&W grainy film art filter on my Olympus EP1 when I first brought it (I am shooting a lot more manual now though, and will post another when I get home.)

The light bulbs in my front room

Same subject different view
