Hi all

I need to do a visa run next week b4 the 23rd.I want to know if they are issuing tourist visas in Savannakhet free of charge, the same as Vientienne? Any suggestions for a good place to stay there would be appreciated.

Cheers

Without starting a new topic does anyone know what the rule is with how often or how many times can enter Thailand without a visa as one of the exempt countries, I mean just as the 30 day entry stamp. I remember there used to be a limit, is this the case or can enter and leave as often as you like? Thanks

There is no set limit on visa or visa exempt entry or on the amount of time spent in Thailand during any set period of time. After three or four there may be questioned asked as to why (if you may be working illegally); but even that asking is infrequent.

Ahh k great thanks, I thought before they said had to wait a certain period,2 or 3months between trips if entered more than a certain amount of times within a year. So that is definitely not the case right? Ta

Was in Savannakhet a few weeks ago. They were issuing double entry tourist visas and they were free. For some reason they were writing "next time financial status must be shown" on them.

The Leema Guest House is a very nice place to stay. Most Tuk Tuk drivers outside of the Consulate know it. It has rooms with a large bed, air con, hot water shower and UBC Tv for 320 baht.

Thats excellent news for me puchooay as I'm soon to catch the bus to Svkt from Hue.

Are any supporting documents such as flight tickets required?

Cheers.

I can attest to the fact that there's no limit of entry for holders of passports of visa-exempted countries. I've been to Thailand at least 12 times already since 18 months ago both via Suvarnabhumi and Sungai Golok border for short visits. I've been only asked once at the latter of my reasons of visiting.

However since this time around I'll be exceeding the 30-day leave to enter, I'll be making my way to Aranyaphratet and crossing the border to Cambodia and come back so that I could stay 10 days more.
