Advice About Pajero Sport

Featured Replies

MRO, are they going to put the 5 speed box and Vsc as Australia has this already. I'm sure people would be ok to pay extra.

Waiting for confirmation on the 5AT, VSC and other features like headlight washers, auto-leveling xenons etc. Will update as more info comes to light..

  • 4WD 2.5L GT - 1,321,000 Baht

Headlight washers are confirmed - this probably means auto-levellng lights as well, but unconfirmed.

Automatic (rain sensing) windshield wipers confirmed.

New audio system with USB and bluetooth confirmed.

Still waiting on other features and more mechanical specs..

2.5!!!! Washer's, Rain sensing whiper's "for what pointless" USB, Bluetooth "good" NO Sat Nav, NO VSC, & 1,321,000bt Me think's they have just priced themselve's out of the market. 3.0v Fortuner has VSC and that's 1,339,000 yes 18,000 more BUT VSC. Oh but it dosen't have rain sensing whiper's I hear you all cry. Sure but I know what I prefer.

It will have GPS - except rather than being an add-on unit as current, it will be integrated into the stereo.

As for VSC, it's expected it'll have ASC (Active Stability Control) and ATC (Active Traction Control) - I'm waiting for confirmation on this however.

It's also expected to have a 5-speed auto transmission with paddle shifters, but again unconfirmed.

Both driver's and passengers seats are expected to be 8-way electric adjustable with driver memory (currently driver's only), but I'm waiting on confirmation for that too...

As for being "just" a 2.5L, it's the updated VGS (Variable Geometery System) which makes 178HP and 400Nm - making it the most powerful engine in any Thai made PPV/Pickup, regardless of capacity.

I probably won't have any updates until the 1st/2nd week of Jan at the earliest.

... except for this :)

Full price list for the 2011 Pajero Sport:

  • 2WD 2.5L GLS - 987,000
  • 2WD 2.5L GLS Pearl White - 1,002,000
  • 2WD 2.5L GT - 1,142,000
  • 2WD 2.5L GT Pearl White - 1,157,000
  • 4WD 2.5L GLS - 1,157,000
  • 4WD 2.5L GLS Pearl White - 1,172,000
  • 4WD 2.5L GT - 1,312,000
  • 4WD 2.5L GT Pearl White - 1,327,000

All models are Auto transmission and have the 178HP 2.5L VGS turbo engine.

Mitsu will be a serious contender if the 5 speed and Asc and Atc are added features also both front seats being electic adjust and if that will come on the 2wd models on the price you have listed as with those prices we don't know what it will include yet except for the new engine set up.

All features listed, if they come, will be on the GT spec in both 2WD and 4WD forms. It appears the lower grade GLS model will get ASC and ATC, but not the GPS, leather and other electric goodies. Will post all info in a single, lucid post once everything is confirmed :)

thanks ignis, moonriveroasis, little_muppet and the rest for your replies!

i really apreciate it :)

im gonna wait for the 'new' PJS then.... gonna google for more info about it, cause if it takes another half year or so, im not gonna wait... so will have to look for exact month (and date if possible hehe :))

I have a 3.2lt PJS, GT. From new it averaged around 9.5kl/lt at cruiseing speeds of around 125 to 130ks. After 30,000kl the milage has increased suddenly to 10.5kl/lt at the same cruiseing speeds, No adjustments have been made in any area. My advice is to pay the few bucks extra and buy the 4x4 as its far safer in this country especially in the rainy season. I think for the money you get a lot more car and the resale will be much better in 4 or 5 years time :ermm:
