It's infuriating. I am now having to wait for at least a month for MY money because of the banks incompetence. You'd think you should have access to your own money in the bank, apparently not.

And it takes two weeks for the money to be credited again (we already requested it once but nobody did anything). Why would it take two weeks? It's a bank <deleted>. What's wrong with these people. It's MY MONEY and I need it . I'm not a violent man but I would love to jump down the phone and see the idiots fact to face.

I've got too many rose coloured glasses to have much of a whinge. I DO feel sorry for Moonrakers, though. It was THEIR fault that they didn't put enough money in the ATM and HE shouldn't wait because ot their incompetance. The banks DO insist that you use the ATM rather than one of their tellers to withdraw funds. It only takes a few minutes to proceed a transaction. You can bet your sweet patootie that if the shoe was on the other foot then the bank would be charging you interest for the time period they were without the funds.

You're absolutely right Ian. If it was me who owed them, they'd be sure to make something from it.

Not only is the 'Rakers clan living on mama noodles for the next week or so but it will literally cost me as well because when I do have a payment coming I have to pay to get it moved quickly. And guess who gets that payment

It should be them paying me yet it is me who ends up paying them extra for their incompetence.

The anger is rising again now because this is about the time of night when I crack open a beer to relax with, but I can't even afford a single beer.

They are far more selfish than motorists, think the road is theirs alone. Do not obey traffic lights, ride against traffic flow, turn at any point they wish, ride two and three abreast on narrow roads, ride so slowly their balance is risky, ride so fast their lives are at risk, ride with one hand 'cos the other one is cold (never heard of gloves), ride one hand 'cos they're on their mobile phone, ride no hands 'cos one is cold and the other is holding a mobile phone, have their whole family on the bike, have their whole mom-and-pop store on the bike, carry their farm produce - from a ton of onions to two dozen ducks - on the bike. Oh, I could go on and on, but I'll leave it at this short little precis.

(It's now 8.00 a.m., so I'd better do some work.)

That gets frustrating when you forget to save what you've written before you hit the enter button. I'm getting better at rememberins to hit CTR-C before I hit enter. I've lost too many paragraphs to cyberspace. Some is the fault of thaivisa and some is the fault of my intermittentnet.

Gawd, banner ads... The way things are going, TV is going to banner-ad itself out of existence.

Some years ago in HK I got an electric bill for 0 ( nil, zero, zip ). I ignored it and a couple of weeks later I got a reminder to pay 0 (nilamundo ). Ignored it again and couple of weeks on got a red notice to say as I hadn't paid nothing I now faced 68HKD service charge.

Laughing this off, went on my merry way until they cut me off for not paying nothing and ignoring their reminders.

I was not amused................

Telephone conversation was a joy. lady on the line told me all bills electronically generated so had to be correct. When I pointed out my difficulties in paying nothing, received her sympathetic, "not my problem you didn't pay nothing so now we will charge you an arm and a leg to re-connect."

I got really rather cross at this and to cut a long story short after visiting their HQ in person and explaining my view on their collective parentage, said electricity was re-connected. Final word from the staff? apology ? err no, was told this whole thing wouldn't have happened, if I would have paid the bill for nothing in the first place...............................

And, of course, you would request a written receipt from them in reply - just to ensure that no naughty person at the Bright Lights & Bright Staff Electrical Gizmo Supply Company had misappropriated your payment.

Anyway, no point in bitching about this - how else are these banker-chappies going to get their big fat bonuses? It's got to come from the money they squeeze from all their depositors and the loans being repaid. If they gave value-for-money there would be no big fat bonuses for big fat bankers.

My old friendly bank manager of years ago was as skinny as a rake. Bu then, he was probably setting an example - as miserable with spending a quid on himself as he was with his customers...
