Living Wills In Thailand - New Regulation

Featured Replies

I am not sure if I am posting this regulation under the good forum, but living Wills are probably part of some family matters and foreigners living in Thailand should know about them. Living Wills were recognized under Thai Law by the Health Act of 2007. The law refers to a regulation and we were waiting for it. Now, we have the regulation and we did a translation in English.

The regulation for Living Wills in Thailand was signed on October 6th 2010 by the Prime minister of Thailand. It was published on 22nd October 2010 in the Government Gazette.

According to clause 1 off that regulation, it will be applicable 210 days after the publication in the Governmental Gazette, so around mid June 2011.

You will find the regulation in Thai here:

Our translation in English here:

For any clients that previously did a living Will with Isaan Lawyers, if it needs to be adjusted following this new regulation, Isaan Lawyers will do the modifications free of charge. For instance, the address of the witness and writer of the Living Will must be mentionned.

Unfortunately neither of the first 2 links work but the link to your site does.

I was able to load the link to the English translation just now...although it did take some time before it finally showed.

I just tried again with the same results.

It just says done at the bottom but there is no download.

I am using Firefox so that may be a problem though there aren't many pages like that for me.

The links work fine with me, and i just tried with 2 different computers and mobile application.

They are files in PDF. Maybe your computer doesn't support it.

I just downloaded the English translation using Firefox, no problem.

All links opened fine for me in Firefox.

IsaanLawyers,

What does your firm charge to have a basic living will prepared in English and Thai?

Thanks.

Tried again but it still won't open for me in either FireFox or IE8.

I don't normally use IE but it will get to the webpage and I still cannot open it.

Sorry

^ What PDF reader are you using?

Two popular applications are Adobe Acrobat and Foxit.

I am using Adobe Reader 9.

Just tried again and I still can't download them.
