Eu Sends Out £4.4M Diaries To Schools Which List Muslim, Chinese And Hindu Holidays... But Miss Out Christmas And Easter

Featured Replies

The European Union has sent millions of diaries to schools which list the dates of Muslim, Hindu, Sikh, Jewish and Chinese festivals - but omit any mention of Christian celebrations.

In an extraordinary move, three million 2011 notebooks were printed at a cost of £4.4million to the taxpayer. Around 350,000 of the diaries have already been shipped to schools in the UK alone.

There is no record for Christmas, Easter or Lent - despite bureaucrats carefully listing the EU’s self-styled ‘Europe Day’ on May 9.

I daresy that most people already know the ommitted days, but haven't the foggiest notion of the days published.

How dare they blame 'aggressive atheism in the apparatus of the European Union-Commission'.

This is obviously a plot by the evil Muslim/political correctness alliance in their drive for world domination. :annoyed:

Nothing wrong with banning Christmas, after all that's why Mary and Joseph could find no room at the Inn, full of Christmas bookings...........

Allah humbug.

EU officials have described the diaries as 'a rather gross error' but were at a loss to explain how it might have occurred.

The diaries contain much information for modern-day youngsters aged between 12 and 16 – such as mobile phone costs, the dangers of the Internet and climate change.

German conservative MEP delegate Martin Kastler blamed' aggressive atheism in the apparatus of the European Union-Commission' and called it 'unbearable.'

Now we know where Osama Bin Laden has bin hidin'.

........ and workin'.

Did they leave out the Eastern Orthodox holidays as well as the holidays followed by Roman and Protestant churches?

If so, this was blatantly anti-Christian, rather than saying that 'everyone knows the Christian holy days'.

What about Hindu festivals? Buddhist holy days? Sikh holy days?

Et cetera, et cetera.

Either put them all in, or just put in the official bank holidays of each country.

I used to deliver groceries to a nunnery in Kensington and they had a calendar in the kitchen with all the Saints days on it - usually two or more for each day - the important ones in red - the very important ones in large type.

You can go overboard with these things.

I totally oppose any public holidays since I retired.

The shopping mall car parks are hard enough to get into on weekends as it is with out adding extra days to it.
