Health Certificate Required?

Featured Replies

Retirement visa is up for renewal, is new health certificate required by CM Immigration??

Getting ready to renew also and I switched from a non-O marriage visa last year to a retirement visa. Can someone tell me exactly what they will require when I go this year as last year was a bit confusing when I made the changeover. Is it just an application form and bank statement showing I have the 800,000 baht in the bank?

alternative to 800.000 b which must have been in your Thai account since 3 months before due date !!!

is to prove monthly income of minimum 65.000 b certified by your consulate. There may be other institutions who can certify but not sure.

No health certificate required for renewal.

hmm, wife reminded me that last year immigration officer insisted on health certificate. Don't like to be kind of harassed by one individual who thinks the rules are up to him. Could not find anything authoritative in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs memo http://goo.gl/BCGvZ.

Any source which can be printed out and shown in case of need??

They have not required a health certificate for renewals the pass 5 years, I can vouch for that. As I say that if you get a official that requires one my advice is ask to speak to their supervisor for confirmation, do not argue and if they insist tell them no problem and then go get a medical for 50 baht. Smile. TIT. The other choice is to get a medical (50 baht) and let them throw it in the bin. I have seen them do this.

Will just do that , not worth the argument, I did learn that much about TiT. 50 baht, very cheap indeed, not that it matters assuming I don't have to wait . where?? RAM for sure not.

Any hospital and some clinics. OK

A Health Certificate has not been a requirement for years.

To quote Johann W. von Goethe=

"I hear the message well but lack Faith's constant trust."

This being said with a smile.

Lite Beer what would you do if,as it did really happen to me last year here at CM immigration.

Put up an argument or shrug your shoulders, saying to yourself well TiT, does it matter?

??

The more serious issue behind my question is there a hypothetical point, there is a limit where you feel a farang ought to put his foot down?

I have not seen any reports from CM applicants saying that they needed a Health Certificate.

It is not a requirement. Maybe you got hold of the only officer who did not know that it was abolished years ago.

thaiphuket.

re ... where?? RAM for sure not

try doctor morgan ... three minits from immigration

Hi Thaiphuket. I believe that Chiang Mai immigration provides handouts of the required documentation for the various visas. See if they have one for retirement visas and bring the list with you to the interview.
