Police Lieutenant shoots armed suspect dead in East Pattaya

PATTAYA: -- An armed suspect who drove through a checkpoint and then allegedly shot at pursuing Police was shot dead by a Police Lieutenant working at Banglamung Police Station. The officer, who was one of a group of chasing Police Officers, explained the chain-of-events to us. A Police Checkpoint was set-up in Nong Yai, east of Pattaya, in front of Soi 8. A Motorbike containing two men was ordered to pull over however the driver sped up and continued through the checkpoint. Police officers gave chase and both men, who were heavily armed, fired multiple times at the officers who fired-back.
