Left the hotel about 1200 PM at On Nut and boarded the Sky Train to Mor Chit, arrived at Mor Chit in about 30 minutes. Walked off the train down the stairs and caught a taxi to immigration after a Thai lesson from taxi driver in correct pronuciation of Cheang Watthana.Arrived at immigration a few minutes before one PM, wandered around for a bit before finding the correct location (first time). A nice Thai lady showed me the location of copy center, fast and effiecient. It is funny to watch people try and explain what they want copied as the ladies know what you need.Copies in hand back up to have it all checked before recieving Q number. I was in for a bit of a wait as there was a crowd. Watching the Q jumpers was an education in and of its self. Watching this go on raised a few questions in my mind, who were these people and what qualified them to be served without Qing up with the peons. Was there money envolved or did their agents just know the officers. I didn't see money change hands so cannot speculate on this as the reason. After a 2 and a half hour wait my number came up and I was served very efficent and fast. Nothing was asked for other than the copies of passport, Embassy letter, and application form. No proof of address was asked for. She did ask me what the exchange rate was that day and I told her it was around 31 baht to the dollar.Paid my money took everything to a very cute officer who double checked everything and I walked out with a one years extension of stay.Went back to the Q line and recieved a Q number for Permission to re-enter section. This was very fast and I was in and out in about 30 minutes. The whole thing took about 3 hours, I am sure there are days it could have been faster but no complaints.

Yea, for me mornings have always been much faster...afternoons seem to be much busier. My last retirement extension of stay and getting a re-entry permit took about 1 hour and 15 minutes at CW...about half of that to get the retirement extension and the other half getting in another line to get the re-entry permit in case I leave/re-enter the country during the extension of stay. All and all, quick and easy. But I do usually do my 90 day reporting in the afternoon and the whole place looks noticeably busier than the morning.

Ah well, Udon Thani took me 30 minutes, re-entry permit inclusive

But they did want a map how to find my place, the man clearly could not read my map....but did not care, a new useless idea,:whistling:
