I know full airlines don't let passengers use the return only but what about Low Cost?

Partner needs to get later flight same day, cheaper to book new 1 way than 2 of us on another departure

flight. Is it possible? Too late to call Airasia. Flight 4wks away. Thanks in Advance.

I would call them and make sure. If it was bought as a single ticket, they may be linked. And if so, by missing your initial "leg", they will cancel the return. It's happened to be on other airlines...back when I use to do "back to backs" to save a few bucks.

I fly regularly from Phuket to Singapore and book online the outward on Tiger and the return on AirAsia. No problem.

Are you saying you book a round trip but only use the return portion? In my experience, if you book a round trip and don't make the first leg of the journey, the whole ticket is canceled. Just booking individual segments is OK. The problem arises when you book a complete set. But I think AirAsia does like mentioned above. Each segment is a separate ticket. I would call them just to be safe....

If you go to the website you will see that you can book one way. It doesn't matter which way. You don't have to book a round trip

But that's not the OP's question, he has already purchased a return ticket and he wants to know if he can forgo the outward flight and still use the return part of the booking.

I don't have the answer to OP's question, but I try to avoid OP's situation by booking separate one ways as there is no cost saving in booking a R/T vs 2 one ways.

What does AirAsias T&C's say about OP's situation?

Yes I see. AIr Asia treats a return booking as 2 separate one ways so I shouldn't think this is a problem.

thanks to all, I mean late as in late NIGHT after hours.I know I can always rely on Thaivisa members to know it all 24hrs a day:)

It's one of those things you better ask just in case.

I avoid calling Customer service because thats not what they offer.
