My wife had what I consider a much more attractive anti-theft device installed that is positioned under the drivers side dashboard. When you leave the vehicle you push a small key lock button that locks then pull a parking break like handle that also locks. These two lock in position the break and accelerator peddles. When you get back you use the same key to quickly unlock both units. Very unobtrusive - the locks shown above I find very ugly! Think what my wife got cost about 3k baht.

As for guessing the car - is it a Rolls?

Anti Theft device?

It locks the gear stick in place when parked?

Friend of mine had one fitted (You can still buy them) how did they fit it with self tapping screw's to the gear box tunnel good game A.

Thanks everyone!

And this is Thailand - odd nobody guessed a Toyota Hilux! Was browsing a classifieds site based in BKK and virtually every pickup had one of these. I thought it was some kind of government mandated speed regulation device.

Come on then what year was it. 1985??? You've got to realise that peep's that post on TV are "ALL" very young. Toyota has had the VIGO for the last 20year's.

I have one of these too. I think the one I have is a Carryboy 3 lock (it has three locks). Two locks are built in and the third is a padlock (all locks use the same key). Not intrusive like this gear lock thing! Had it 4 years and very good.

If you are parking your car up for some months (eg going back to farangland); I remove fuses and disconnect the battery. I also remove the fuse cover so that someone cannot work out what fuses to put back to get the car started.

I also have a custom remote; so I guess thats three additional deterrents before they can nick the car.
