just get a new Easy Pass token days ago. this morning it won't registered twice ( another 2 passes alright ). the gate man dropped my car plate number and let me go.

any penalty on this incident ? how do I know if the token no working ?

any advice !

Same thing happened to me when I first got it, it happened about 2-3 times but after that no problems. I would be sure to check your balance next every time I go through the gate. One time I followed another car and as I went through it showed my remaining balance at 500 thb, I knew this was impossible because I just topped up and used it only 2 times since the last top up, but on my way back the balance was correct.

Apparently you have to wait around half an hour after you have made a purchase, or a top up, for the amount to be registered to your account, and therefor available for use. No idea why it wouldn't be instantaneous, but thats the way it is.

likely they need to synchronise the payment from the server to all the toll gates, but mine already a week after the first purchase. just don't like the intermittent problem, feel not easy !

Sometimes if the car in front has an easy pass and it is not recognized then the car following (too closely) will also have their easy pass not recognized, you should wait behind the big yellow concrete blocks before proceeding just in case, had 5 cars in front this morning all go into reverse cause of this problem.

Is the token affixed or do you hold it out of the window like some Thais do?

The balance thing is not quick enough to register the next cars balance if people are moving through quickly, I had a balance of over 1000baht the other day, the next it was 300, cause of this small problem.

You can buy credit and use shortly afterwards, I have bought credit and used it 10 minutes later, but maybe this was just luck.

yeah, you are right, I was holding the token !! at the purchase, a guy from the office told me to WAVE the token to the yellow concrete block, until not problem then I fix it to the wind screen.

You have to hold it up, I did this the first time it worked, then I thought why not try it on the windscreen where it should be, it worked so have left it there, works everytime.

you don't wave it at the yellow blocks, you hold it up when you are level with the yellow blocks, the reader is above the area between the blocks and the barrier.

We fixed ours to the windscreen as well, just behind (or in front depending on your perspective) the rear view mirror. Haven't had a problem with it.

Same as me, fixed on same spot but first couple times it didn't work but think there were some bugs in the system. Now works everytime.
