There are quite few medications in different dosages that need to be tried before a person gives up. It doesn't cure anyone but brings their brain chemicals up closer to a more normal level, and that can be all the difference in feeling like you want to end it all, or telling yourself, it's not as bad as I thought. Having someone to talk to helps a lot also, especially if they're non judgemental and understand there are things you just don't say to someone in pain. There are people who are extremely depressed and don't think of taking their own lives and some that are having a seasonal episode that do. It's all personal and what works for 100 might not work for you. That's why the best step is acknowledging you have it. I've dealt with 7 personally that were all the same, but different, listened to them, and those that took the steps are doing well, while those that didn't want the stigma, stopped taking their medicine, even after seeing results. "I don't want to take pills, I'm not crazy". -
