Tot 3G Network Reliablility

Featured Replies

Anyone having issues with TOT's 3g network ? I'm using a nokia e72 modem to connect to my laptop. While connected, there are times when I can't load any more webpages and have to disconnect and reconnect. This happens intermittently. Not sure if its an issue with nokia or TOT's network. Was thinking of buying a dlink DWM-156 aircard but wanted to see if there were other users having issues since I have only been on for a week. Appreciate any feedback on this.

I'm on cat cdma's 3g and its been degrading rapidly the past week or so. The past couple of days it has gone from mediocre to completely unusable for interactive online stuff, like games. I've been using it for about 6 months and this is my first complaint. I was actually about to post a thread on here to see if I was the only one!

I have true 3g, and many times in one day I have to disconnect and reconnect with my True Move air card to continue to use the internet.

I don't know why, and I am not idling either, mid downloads, is crazy, I have called True and its like hitting a brick wall.

Also it depends on your signal strength too, and the position of your phone, if my air card is on my desk I can only download at about 2 or 3 megabits, but if I raise it only 50cm and put it on top of my lamp, I can download at 7 megabits. Everything makes a difference.

I find air cards, have a better reception than Mobiles, also you can put an external antenna on most, an air card might be the way to go, make sure you but the correct one for your network, and 7.2mbps model, Airfox do one that covers all frequency spectrums currently in use in Thailand, they might be the best way to go, currently TOT only support HSDPA upto download 7.2mbps and 384kbps upload, and not HSPA & HSUPA like true move, so if you are money concious you can buy a cheaper model maybe.

Truemove 850mhz 3G

TOT 2100 & 1900 mhz 3G one for upload & other for Download I think.

Ok, so it seems that is a normal to have to disconnect and reconnect often with 3G signals whether True or TOT. I have full signal strength, but only able to max out at 3.5-4 mbps. I will try your suggestion to raise my phone. Same here with downloads, especially the larger files greater than 5 mb, it just quits and have to try again.
